Some years ago I got involved in the TooManyCooks project. Long story short, it was to see if a group of strangers could collaboratively write a novel in a week. From scratch.
It made use of techniques employed in the creation of computer software. I’d be fibbing if I said I knew all the ins and outs of all the methods, but I still use some of them today. I was even lucky enough to be invited back to its second run.
Since my participation during its early days (read: 2009), the project has gone on to be used by various groups of students and 6th formers. You can learn more about it here. I’m in the grey hoodie.
Under the pen name Tim Cooks, several of the groups’ pieces have made their way to Amazon, including one of the two I had a hand in.
Much more recently, I’ve been working on a sci-fi novel that a) I hope will be a fun read and b) I hope I don’t stuff up too much. I also do my best to put out plenty of flash fiction and short stories on my blog.
